 Cichlid Chatter
I thought we could give this a try. Let's use this thread as our "twitter" where we can just post some quick daily updates on our fish activities whether they be by the fish or what we did with/for the fish.

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Today I did a 50% wc in my ABN tank for the 1st time in 3 days. This tank is way overstocked and I should be doing every two days at the most. I also fed both of my 55's today with some Omega One Cichlid Flakes.

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
I also did a water change to my 20 long and my two 55gal. 3 tanks is enough for today ill do my 125gal tomorrow. it takes to much time for me to do all 4 tanks in one day. My 20 long is in my living room, the two 55gal is in the basement and the 125 is in the den..

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
I fed my fish I use Ocean Nutrition marine pellets and NLS pellets. Really need to do water changes. I looked at some of my emersed Cryptocorynes and am thinking of transplanting them into a 10 gallon tank I was just given. Thinking of putting the C. cordata var. cordata "blassii" in there to let it run all over. But I may pot it up instead. http://www.xs4all.nl/~crypts/Cryptocory ... r/cor.html

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Watched the demasoni spawn today. It's a crowded tank, but no one wanted to mess with the male. I noticed the polit male I got at the CNYAS auction this spring is starting to look real nice. Hopefully, there will be some action there soon as well.

I didn't do much with the tanks yesterday other than feed the fish.

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
I have a 10 gallon tank without a bottom just hanging around. Was thinking of siliconeing it to the top of the new 10 gallon to make a 20 extra high to grow emersed Crypts. This was my thought a few years ago, now with the new tank-This may be my next project.
Fed my fish. Watched the mulm build up.

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
have a 125 with juvies. Demasoni, RT Hongi, Yellow Labs, kingseizi. Great mix of fish. All getting along with much rock work. The tank setup is about 4 weeks old now. Feed NLS mini pellets and flake.
Male RT Hongi really starting to show color\promise along with the Male Dems.

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Did WC's on my 2 55's and the 10 with ABN's and their fry. Rinsed out some of the sponges on the filters as well. The uptake tube on the filter for the 10 some how had 3 ABN fry in it. How they got in there I don't know as there's a prefilter on the uptake. Fed the fish with some brine shrimp today.

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Went down to the fishroom to clean tanks yesterday. Was quite surprised to see one of my larger male fronts out of the 125g he is normally in and now in a nearby 30 long.He looked pretty freaked out.Not half as freaked out as the Bolivian rams that live in that tank!!

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Last night nothing done other than turn the tank lights on. So far today I've fed the ABN tank some french cut string beans.
