Re: Does anyone know what type of wood this is?
It might be manzanita driftwood. I forgot the website that sells it. I believe Tito knows the name of the site. I am sure if you search the forum you will find it.

I'm not sure what type it is but if it were me and the person that was selling it to me didn't know what it was I'd look else where. I do like the root system look to it though. This for a SA tank?

The Manzanita I bought from Manzanita Burlworks http://www.manzanita.com/ was smooth from sandblasting. The wood you are showing may be natural Manzanita.
I know at least one person using Rhododendron branches, blueberry, Azalea. All are very similar to Manzanita.
