 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Larry, I'd love to stop by your place sometime to check out your set-up. would that ever be a possibility?

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Water changes on all tanks today. Three hours later the foam pads on the Aquaclear 50 in the 20G ABN fry tank popped up and pumped about four gallons of water onto the floor. I heard of this happening, but this is a first time for me. No harm done, but it could have been worse.

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Yesterday I did water changes on most of my tanks. I also went to Atlantis. They got in a wild caught Malawi shipment. I wish I had more money to pick up a couple more colonies of fish.

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
also think i am going to break down my 405 on the 90g for a cleaning today...been a long time using sponges on the intake to keep the bulk out of the can...if i use sponges on the outside...and remove the sponges inside... and fill all the baskets with bio media... that should minimize the times you have to break it down right... what you think about that... i use hob's for particulate...any ideas maybe sponges on all intakes to minimize crud...

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Let's go people, you all have to have something going on in the tanks.
With the birth of my little girl last week the fish were pretty much left be other than feedings. This past Saturday I got around to doing WCs on the three tanks. Looks like the ABNs had another batch of fry.

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Ok ill speak up...did WC on all 4 tanks yesterday....picked up 5 demasoni from angel in nyc...already started breeding in my 90 soo them doing the love dance yesterday... trying to decide what to do with my 3 red zebras the male has been hyper aggressive lately...both females were holding rocks...not babies...have more yellow fems holding...lost a mbenji yesterday... weird saw him sitting in the bottom of the 90 gasping not moving...scopped him up moved him to the 30 maternity tank for a change of scenery and 20 min later done....no visible signs belly seemed a bit whitish maybe bloat or something...depending on aggression today may let the 90 go without food today... or feed some romaine to clear out their systems...
30 or so yellow fry growing nicely about 3/4 of an inch now... 12 more in net breeder...gonna put in the 20 with the juvis in a day or two....
thats all for now...
hope the little one is doing well snitch...

 Re: Cichlid Chatter
Moved another 19 bags of fish out to the auction yesterday. Now with the fish I move out at the nec at the end of the month I should finally have enough room to do the big rearranging project Ive been planning.
Fed everyone blackworms last night, got a good deal on what had to be over a half pound of worms at the auction yesterday.
